Updates and upcoming events

Hello members,

I wanted to take a few minutes to update you on what we have been up to. We elected a few new board members:

1. Cassandre Gousse, Treasurer, NCH

2. Jamila Plaza, Secretary, Lee Memorial CCH

3. Fernanda Vargas, Community Outreach Coordinator, NCH

I want to thank our exiting board members for all their work these past few years. Especial thanks to Tami. She has been the heart of Shellcoast for a very long time. She needed a much needed break but we will still keep her involved as she is an invaluable member of this chapter. I also want to thank Jack Mora for helping us get our last quarter financials done. Thank you both!

We are focusing on doing community events. A couple of things happening:

1. We are collecting school supplies for Lake Trafford Elementary in Immokalee. We will post a flyer separately. Donations accepted until 09/15/2024. We want to thank our directors Heather Kingery (CCH) and Chris Raphael (NCH) for their support in this cause and including our flyer in their newsletter to help us spread the word. Thank you!

2. We are partnering with Premier Mobile Health Services and we will be doing Middle School sport physicals this week. 

We have also been working diligently to get sponsors for our educational dinners. We have confirmed for the next few months. We typically do them the 3rd Tuesday of the month, but exceptions were made for September (date to be announced) and November will be the 2nd Tuesday to account for Thanksgiving. 

If you have any ideas/thoughts for any community events, or see a need we can help fulfill, feel free to reach out to any of the board members. We are excited to be more involved in our community!
