The meeting at the Melting Pot on Tuesday 4/21 was a great time. The vote for a permanent meeting place was an overwhelming yes. So the details will be worked out but looks like our chapter will haveĀ a home at Breckinridge School of Nursing. That being said, do not fear, there will still be opportunities to have bonus meetings if sponsors are obtained. The meeting place also allows food to be catered in. We can have the best of both worlds, education and food. More updates to follow.

The Education list for next year includes the following:

Endocrine, Infectious disease, sepsis, ventilators and ABGs, Neurology, Oncology, Wounds, Hypothermia, the future direction of nursing, the less familar labs, Review classes for CMC and CSC certification, updates on new procedures and equipment such as the radial band post cardiac cath, updates on neurology, oncology, trauma, and cardiology, holistic medicine and aroma therapy, legal documentation and charting, taking care of nurse, PNAP, pacing and cardioversion, train of 4 and paralytics, lazer procedures for leg clots, multi system failure and kidney issues, IO insertion and removal, stents for the heart and the brain.

The education opportunities are vast. If you know of speakers locally that are good contact the board. We will be looking to have local speakers that can give their time for the hour presentation and we can get both new knowledge and CEUs.

Paul Palanzi is now officially the president of the chapter. Trish Willson is now the treasurer. Ginnie Hesson remains the secretary. We have a great group that will continue to move us forward. Please continue to encourage other colleagues to join. Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming meetings. - Debra Berry, immediate past president
