Minutes 7/17/17 Shellcoast AACN Chapter

Location: 15248 So. Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, Fl.
Time: 6:30 p.m.

TOPIC: Planning Meeting

OBJECTIVE: Assess strengths and weaknesses in Chapter, network with peers, floatation of ideas.

ATTENDEES: President Paul Palanzi, Secretary Jan DeBlois. Members: Ashley Tabor, Jennifer Sabiston, and Donna Sutton.

MINUTES:
Paul, had video conference earlier with AACN advisor Cat Bermudez, who recommended a planning meeting.
Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m., with nourishment and beverages provided. Guest speaker was Director Mark Whitney, who has partnered with Hope World Wide, an international organization, that reaches out to local communities, providing volunteer services. Several suggestions discussed were Echo, United Way, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Nursing Homes, Our Mother's Home, etc, as a start for volunteer activities within our community Members have been encouraged to speak with new and seasoned nurses to join our local Shellcoast AACN chapter, as well as National Chapter. Donations for children, i.e clothing, toys, donations for food bank, volunteering at Harry Chapin's kitchen, etc were discussed.

We welcome new members, Ashley and Jennifer, who I forsee being active in this Chapter. Donna, who is an educator, offered to assist us in anyway, she could.

Meeting adjourned at 8 p.m. by Jan, with suggested contacts to be made. Second motion acknowledged by Paul. Our next meeting will be August 15th, 2017, at Cantina Laredo, in Fort Myers. A Sage representative will be sponsoring the meeting.
